Me, Kara (wearing a dress my grandma handmade in 1970)
Hello, I'm Kara (Care-uh)!
I am an Industrial Design student at the University of Cincinnati.
I love designing the bold products that have to do with beauty and home, as well as the packaging and graphics that go with them.
Outside of school and design work, I run my own small business upcycling clothing and home goods. I create video content to share my pieces, handle all customer interactions, and manage orders and shipping. I keep things sustainable by sourcing boxes from neighbors, and I add handwritten notes on paper bag and coffee sleeve scraps to make each order feel personal. It’s been a rewarding way to combine creativity, community, and conscious practices.
Outside of school, design, and business... I am a part of Kappa Delta, a social sorority that has given me a plethora of opportunities in my community. I hold 2 major positions and 2 minor positions, and I look forward to applying for governing council in my final year.
Outside of school, design, business, and Kappa Delta ... I try new restaurant weekly and review online to keep my spot in Cincinnati's & Columbus's Yelp Elite Squad, catch a movie with friends, go thrifting with my mom and sister, and visit with my grandparents.
and if I have time for it, I rest.
